BIll Hicks was a rising comedian who died before his prime.
Born in 1961, Hicks began writing comedy routines with his friends from a very early age. By 16 he was performing weekly at the Comedy Workshop in Houston, TX. By 23 he landed his first of many gigs on Late Night with David Letterman.
Though he remained relatively obscure to the masses throughout his career, Hicks’ began to develop somewhat of a cult following behind the scenes. By 31 it seemed he was on the fast track to success. While touring in ’93, he began to complain about pains in his side. Just months later, Hicks died of pancreatic cancer.
The above clip is one of many that are floating around the internet. You’d do well to search him and browse through all his other material on YouTube.
Enjoy.

This was pretty awesome. I like how he started out seemingly anti-smoking and then flipped it. Nice find.
