Here we go again; the series of terror attacks today in Mumbai, India, cost us the lives of 78 innocent people (so far), according to CNN TV network. Most of the deaths were among tourists who came to stay in Mumbai’s best hotels, The Taj Mahal and Oberoi hotels. According to reports, those two hotels had been taken over by the terrorist group of Deccan Mujahideen who are holding hostages during these sad hours. Heavily armed attackers targeted Western tourists, looking to destroy any Western symbols in the city of Mumbai and send the world a message of hate. The blast is everywhere, according to witnesses.
Not long ago, in an article here at Babeled.com, I wrote about the significance behind targeting specific groups of people in hotels around the globe. I asked the question surrounding what terrorists want to accomplish when committing such acts. A clear cut answer is yet to be given. Mujahideen in the Arabic language is the plural form of Mujahid: A person who is associated with fighting in the name of Islam and therefore practice the Jihad: The War. Some people claim this is the war in the name of God and should be practiced by any true Muslim. Most of the Muslims do not agree with this position, since it encourages the killing of innocent people, as we have seen today.
In his book, The End of Faith, Mr. Sam Harris concludes that “there is no doubt that religious faith remains a perpetual source of human conflict”. Faith, in general, threatens our very existence; from the religious fanaticism of Islamic suicide bombers in Tel-Aviv, to Pakistan’s (or India’s) group of the Mujahideen who targeted Western tourists in Mumbai’s hotels today.
My aim principle aim is to call attention to this event and encourage people to condemn such attacks wherever they may happen in our world. While using this important website, I simply hope people reading would never tolerate such actions whatever the ideology behind it might be. This is my way of fighting the holy war.

I spent some time watching the news this morning, and this is a frightening situation. The manner with which this group targeted Americans, Britons, and recent reports are showing Israeli’s were being targeted as well. In fact, there is a Jewish Center, where several families live, that has been taken over by this upstart terror group.
It is going to be interesting to see if the terror group, Deccan Mujahideen, was working on behalf of a larger organization. While there has been no real specific announcement that this is an act of terror in the name of radical Islam, that certainly seems to be the case.
This attack is a foolish move by the Jihadis. By the end of this day every one of those gunmen will be dead and the US will have a powerful new ally in the global war on terror.
I sincerely doubt that India, a budding superpower, will sit by idly after one of it’s largest cities was held at gunpoint.
Well, the Jewsih center of Chabbad ( http://www.chabad.org)is a spiritual and social institute that support the Jewish community and other visitors for Mumbai. At the moment, the Jewish couple who runs the center Rabi Gavrieal Holtzberg and his wife being held as hostage.
When the terrorists found out who they have in custody, other Islamic groups took over to support those brutal actions. Israel defense minister is considering sending armed force to the zone.
Unfortunately,I doubt that any Israelis, Americans, or Brits taken hostage will survive. Jihadis are not known for their compassion or humanity towards prisoners.
Well many have been released for whatever reason.
update on the price of terror; 5 Israelies among the deaths in the Jewish Chabbad Center. The Rabbi and his wife were confirmed dead, and thier son, Moshe zvi, who clebrate his 2nd birthday today, won’t see them ever again. Sad.
