Though it may have fallen out of style with the times, truly no phrase captures that 1990′s CE spirit like Boom Shakalaka. And if you think you are too cool, or too 21st Century, to spout out this rad phrase, then you don’t know what’s good in life. The fact is, the “Boom” continues to be applicable in today’s day.
For example…
Let’s say you’re chatting with your coworker by the watercooler and you learn that your boss has been talking about laying you off because you think babeling is way more fun than fulfilling your paid responsibilities. Well, the next time you meet with your boss, don’t give him/her a chance to even broach the subject. Just lay into them with some quality BOOM SHAKALAKA. That’ll really show them who’s boss.
Or…
Let’s say you get pulled over for driving 20 miles over the speed limit and the cop asks you for your drivers license but you know you forgot it at home. In this kind of situation you are faced with two choices: 1) Cut and run, or 2) give him some quality BOOM SHAKALAKA. I think you know the wiser choice.
Or…
Let’s say you are running for president and losing to your opponent by 10 points in the polls with just a few weeks left in the game. In this kind of situation you have three choices: 1) Ignore the polls and keep fighting for victory, 2) Cry in the corner and then book a flight to Mexico, or 3) Throw a rotten tomato at your opponents head while screaming BOOM SHAKALAKA. Tough times call for tough choices, but your opponent will later thank you for his ride on the Straight-Talk Express.
So, my friends, remember…there’s nothing more fun than putting authority figures in their place, and there’s no better way to do that than to resurrect the eternal “Boom”.
God Bless the 90′s!

I took your advice and got smacked in the mouth.
Did I just hear Spanish go Boom Boom?
Yes! Flight of the Conchords is excellent, and they sure know how to drop some quality Boom.
Are they gosh darn proven mavericks?
All I keep thinking of when I look at this post is the Sega Genesis game NBA Jam.
I used to play NBA Jam every day when I was a kid and now Boom Shakalaka is gonna be stuck in my head til the day I die.
Now that I think about, what a great way to say goodbye to your loved ones as you drift into death…a nice quiet boom…shaka…laka…(and then silence)
The ultimate F-U to dying.
Luke, Luke…
When I am gone the last of the Jedi will you be.
Luke, (hacks up lung)…
There is another Boom Shaka…laka…
Yoda knows whats up.
