Obama is Incompetent: His Failure Before The Convention Proves It

As I sit here away from my home on business travel in my meager accommodations supplied by a chain of hotels that shall remain nameless, I watch my outdated television wearing a face that is half disbelieving and half childishly amused.
Why, you ask?
Minutes before the first speaker in the Democratic National Convention, Barack Obama has already demonstrated his incompetence. My reasons are many but I shall name and elaborate on just these two:
His convention has begun and we are two months away from the election, yet he has still failed to unite even his own Democratic party. As I write this very post, Senator Obama remains behind closed doors negotiating with the Clintons on the terms of the former first family throwing their support (a mere 18 million votes) behind the self-proclaimed “unifier.” How is a man so liberal he cannot even unite the liberal party supposed to unite the middle-ground voters let alone work side by side with the conservatives who represent the balance of the population? The short answer is he can’t because he is incompetent.
Reason number two: His first speaker is none other than Nancy-ignore-your-job-as-a-public-servant-to-promote-your-lousy-book-Pelosi. Ironic that the man who claims he will solve America’s energy crisis would chose Pelosi who abused her power as Speaker of the House to prevent a vote on off-shore drilling. While Congressmen from both parties sat outside the Capitol poised to exercise democracy and vote on a bill with the potential to ease the burden on the average American’s pain at the pump, Madam Speaker was on the road promoting her book instead of doing the job she is paid to do. Ironically Ms. Pelosi was present for the vote granting herself a pay raise (go figure). If Barack Obama is going to solve the energy crisis then why can’t he rein in members of his own party to at least ALLOW a vote on an energy bill instead of prancing around the country like a traveling saleswoman selling her crap door-to-door? The short answer is he can’t because he is incompetent.
They say the election is his to lose. I truly believe he is doing just that.

I think that this is kind of a short-sighted analysis of the presidential race. It won’t be decided in August, and it won’t be decided in September. Everything that you see at the DNC and the RNC is just a complicated song-and-dance meant to keep the party in the spotlight for a full week of media coverage.
The people running the McCain campaign are running the campaign on three fronts: they’re already trying to raise the specter of fear over Obama (looks like it’s working in some crowds!), they’re selling McCain as a P.O.W. with decades of experience, and they’re managing McCain to prevent him from talking to the media/other people too much.
This isn’t just a mean-spirited jab, it’s the truth as told by the people in his campaign. They keep him as busy as they can so that they can keep him on the day’s message and prevent him from calling people for advice.
I think that Obama tipped his hand when he refused to hold Town Hall meetings with McCain. Obama’s strategy is threefold: he wants to create a nationwide network of supporters (already mostly done), he wants to keep his name in the spotlight, and he wants to crush McCain in the debates.
Not win, not do reasonably well, he’s going for the killing blow. He’s a lawyer by training, and he is preparing the greatest case of his life. He also has every natural advantage: he’s a quick thinker, he’s 6 inches taller than McCain (that’s a striking visual difference), he’s an inspirational speaker, and he’s not as “naieve” as the Reds call him.
I think that the Obama centerpiece is to show America as close to the election as possible that John McCain can get knocked off of his game, contradict himself, get angry, and most of all, show that Obama is presidential. All of this stuff at the convention? It’s all posturing, networking, and posing for the cameras, and both sides do it.

I called this race in February and it is getting quite old already. The only thing constant about the matchup (which terrifies any liberal within) is that their “messiah” isn’t guaranteed a landslide victory in November as they once thought. In fact, it’s going to be a pretty darn close race.
If you don’t think liberals refer to him as their messiah, just Google the word “messiah” and look in the top 5 results.

Right here Jack you hit the crux of the issue; time and time again, the Democrats are unable to get on the same page and move forward. Their personal quest to play hero drives them for personal glory and creates an environment of maverick politicians. This is a big reason why they are unable to capitalize when they have the chance. To over simplify the situation, their tactics are poor.
Ronald Reagan had it write when he preached staying in line when it comes to your own party. Mind you this is not about subjugating your beliefs and violating your morality. Instead it is about recognizing that you have willingly accepted to be part of a team and when push comes to shove you need to cooperate to move forward.
The lack of unity between Obama and the Democratic First Family (the Clintons) could prove to be an ill-advised move - only time will tell. However, I believe this has less to do with Obama’s ability to unify as it does with Hillary stubbornness and her inability to realize she has lost.

Get this…at the DNC, they are going to skip over the states where Hillary beat Obama when calling them out and addressing the delegates, just so that Hillary does not top Obama in any way.

Hilary gave one hell of a unifying speech last night…all without coming across as if she were acting.
Of course, we’ll only know if it worked in November.

All the key speakers looked pretty darned unified to me.
Don’t blame Obama, blame Hillary for her selfishness, and the media for exascerbating the drama and actually reporting like she had a chance after super tuesday.
What’s incompetant is McCain picking Palin for VP or President.
