Translation
“The burdens of global citizenship continue to bind us together. A change of leadership in Washington will not lift this burden. Partnership and cooperation among nations is not a choice; it is the one way, the only way, to protect our common security and advance our common humanity. No one nation, no matter how large or powerful, can defeat such challenges alone. None of us can deny these threats, or escape responsibility in meeting them.” (Barack Hussein Obama, 7/24/08)

We all know Barack is slick with the tongue, and it will be easily dismissed as political rhetoric, but there is inherent understanding in his statement.
And if it was spoken from an anonymous source I think most people would agree with these words, no matter what language they are spoken in.

I am not being sarcastic, I promise:
Andrew - when you dream, does the language of the dream vary from Spanish to English, or is it not an issue? I’m curious because I’ve heard that sometimes people who really learn a second language will dream in it as well.

I have dreamt in German, and I don’t even speak that damn language.

When Spanish is spoken in my dreams it is never by someone who doesn’t speak it in waking life.
Which is interesting considering that the laws of physics can go out the window when you’re dreaming, but I don’t think I’ve ever heard one of my English-only friends speaking anything but English in a dream. But it probably happened and I just forgot the dream.
