World Series Prediction: New York Yankees vs. Los Angeles Dodgers
Posted by Gregory Rineberg under Sports
I know it is way too early in the baseball season to be making predictions about the World Series this year, however I just have to make my bold prediction as to who will be in the World Series. I am very aware of how incredibly wrong I can be, but I think that this years World Series will be between the New York Yankees and the Los Angeles Dodgers. Yep, that’s how I feel.
My reasoning:
- This will be the last year that Yankee Stadium, the “house that Ruth built” will be used by the New York Yankees.
- Joe Torre, the ex-coach of the New York Yankees, is coaching the L.A. Dodgers, who with the right mentality can bring a championship to the Dodgers organization.
- The last game in Yankee Stadium should be between the two oldest rivalries in sports. Before the Red Sox vs. Yankees rivalry, the Yankees had their arch nemesis right in their backyard, Brooklyn.
It only seems fitting that the last games played this year should be between one of the oldest rivalries in baseball at the home of the New York Yankees before the storied franchise moves to a new home. I don’t think there could be a better media story for baseball: Joe Torre leaves New York to lead the Dodgers back to glory and the World Series against their oldest rival to have the last games played in old Yankee Stadium.

Wow, I am overwhelmed with the actual analysis that this prediction is based upon. Nevertheless, the Diamondbacks are Kings of the NL West - which in my opinion is the best division in baseball.

I could see the Dodgers winning the world series against the Yankees this year. This would probably be the only case in my life I would ever say that the Yanks deserved such a loss, only if it were to happen. It wouldn’t be the players fault either, Steinbrenner would be the man to blame.

If your prediction came true it would definitely be a storybook world series.
