Ralph Nader is Running for President.
Episode III: A New Hope
Republicans, fearing a landslide victory by their rivals, the Democrats, have something to cling to. Ralph Nader is running for president - again. With the 3% of the vote Darth Nader is sure to steal from the Democrats, the GOP may yet have some wind left in their sails.
After John McCain took the primary by storm in February, many conservatives thought the final nail had been driven into the coffin. Rumors of far-right Republicans abstaining from the election has left those remaining on the right fearing for a choice between another Clinton in the White House or even worse the policies of Barack Obama.
With a Democrat in the White House we can bank on higher taxes - way higher, open boarders, and far worse - a weak foreign policy that would embolden our enemies to again go on the offensive.
Enter Ralph Nader. With a multi-directional gaze and a propensity to steal votes from the Democrats, he is sure to act as a counterweight to the momentum either Clinton or B Hussein Obama would have coming out of the primary.

Hey I am still hoping for Ron Paul. But Nader could definitely put a Republican in office.

If he really thinks he can win, that alone verifies why he should not be President. This is worse than R2 having delusions of grandeur.

Jack you truly are a nucklehead (B Hussein Obama?) and yet I have to admit I enjoy your Star War references (not that it suprises me).
We can all make fun of Mr. Nader. God knows when someone enters a presidential election they open themselves up for it. However lets not forget what this great man has done for this country and global community. He is the founder of Consumer Report and even Mr. Overboard can agree that this organization has helped millions become informed consumers. I know it may bother some that he is against big business because as we all know if you are wealthy in this country it must mean that you worked harder then the poor. That and God secretly likes you better. Either way as much as I respect,appreciate and admire Ralph Nader and his fight. He will have as much effect on this election as if Pat Buchanan decided to run.

Of course he thinks he can win….He’s going to make himself appear the most qualified candidate by 1)arguing that Obama lacks foreign and domestic politcal experience and 2)arguing that McCain is too moderate on domestic issues and too violent with foreign relations.
Now if Nader manages to create that kind of “I’m the best by default” sort of image, he still has no chance of winning because he’s a two-time loser running as an independent. He’s a little too “ahead-of-the-times” + stubborn - if he really wanted to be president he’d run under one of the two parties.

0 foreign policy as far as I know.
However the guy has a serious track record in regards to getting laws passed without being an elected official….The National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act, The Consumer Product Safety Act, The Freedom of Information Act….not a lot of people can brag about that.

What Nader has done in the past is make the argument that the two parties aren’t that different and that they both have their hands in the pocket of big business. I honestly think he will be even less effective then last election. It will give him a stage to discuss his views.

I think this is just a matter of the basic difference between liberalism and conservatism. Liberals think there should be change and conservatives are fine with the status quo. Big business is not all bad but I think a lot of people look at the current state and make excuses for big corporations. Saying things like, “Well that is just how business is.” They’re right if we let it remain that way. I think there is a problem, you don’t. No biggie.

Nader is a fool with some interesting and good ideas, but a fool nonetheless. A fool for thinking that tens of millions of American voters are progressive enough to subscribe to his ideology. Does he not recognize that half of the country would be happy walking around, quoting the bible and twisting each others’ nipples until the Lord and Savior returns to bring about the Rapture?
