The fact that I am alive today is a miracle as my Grandfather was a Sherman Commander under Patton.  Check out the book &lt;a href=&quot;http://www.3ad.com/history/wwll/feature.pages/death.traps.htm&quot; rel=&quot;nofollow&quot;&gt;Death Traps&lt;/a&gt; written by one of the men he served with in the Third Armored Division.  It paints a pretty gruesome picture of the Sherman&#039;s track record (no pun intended).</description>
