The fact that I am alive today is a miracle as my Grandfather was a Sherman Commander under Patton. Check out the book <a href="http://www.3ad.com/history/wwll/feature.pages/death.traps.htm" rel="nofollow">Death Traps</a> written by one of the men he served with in the Third Armored Division. It paints a pretty gruesome picture of the Sherman's track record (no pun intended).
